Patients Need Responsibility Too – New Health Care Public Option Ignores This Reality

Right now, one of the biggest problems with Medicare is that many of the folks that have Medicare will go to the doctor three times a week. They go to the doctor for all kinds of stuff, because they don’t have to pay for it. If there was some kind of co-pays, even if they just had to pay $35 each visit, I guarantee they wouldn’t go was often. Can you even imagine how much money this would save the American taxpayer?

Patients need responsibility also, we can’t just blame the doctors. Especially considering we have pharmaceutical ads on TV which tell people if they have this symptom, or that symptom they might have a serious disease and they have to ask their doctor about their particular brand of pharmaceutical product.

We have half of our nation thinking like hypochondriacs and they go to the doctor just to be sure, and they go to the doctor on the taxpayer’s money. They go without regard to the cost of each visit or the incredible cost to our nation. Nothing in this new healthcare public option plan addresses that problem.

Likewise, there is nothing in there about all the lawsuits that are driving up the cost of medicine. Especially considering that one-third of the doctor’s cost to see a patient goes for malpractice insurance, because there are so many lawsuits. Our health care system is broken and we need to fix it.

One thing we need to fix is all the lawsuits, another is the patient’s must be responsible, and if we open this whole thing up with a public option plan, then every single person in the country who gets a little sniffle will run to the doctor, because it doesn’t cost them anything, and they feel they’ve already paid for it because they’re paying into the public plan.

We cannot add to a faulty and broken health care system until we fix these issues first. The United States Congress is failing the American people by not fixing the problem, and merely adding to it. This socialist-liberal agenda is hijacking the medical industry, it is a hostile takeover, it is the taxpayers who are going to get it in the rear, and I don’t mean a flu shot. Please consider all this.
